Fall has sprung! November and December have just a few shows, in MI, VA, NC and SC, as I prepare for a....

SABBATICAL: It's been over a year in the making and planning - I'll have 5 months, from Dec. to May! I'm looking forward to some time for personal travel, pursuing a number of writing projects, creating arrangements for the band, as well as some time to dream and ....relax!

THE BAND: JONAS AFTER DARK is the current name, we're still open to suggestions.... We had a glorious debut at the October L.E.A.F festival - there were 12 of us! I was joined by River Guerguerian and Dave Holland on Middle Eastern, African, and Brazilian percussion; Akira Satake on banjo and dobro; Don Porterfield on virtual bass (he had the flu, but was there in spirit....); and an extraordinary group of dancers and singers (the Satellite Movement Orchestra and Open Vocal Ensemble, or S.M.O.O.V.E.) which included Jessica Kaufman, ! Ross Williams, Julia McLaughlin, Kacie Loparto, Lottie Book, Tom Dolce, Molly Craven, Joel Kimmel-Stabler. At various points leading up to the big show I had the opportunity to also work with Larry Enlow, Jimm Mosher, Ashley Farmer, Coco Palmer, and other inspiring singers, bangers, twangers, movers and shakers - I owe them a special thanks and look forward to more opportunities. We'll continue to evolve, so be in touch if you want to be part of .....

S.M.O.O.VE.: it's the temporary name for the auxiliary choir of vocalists and dancers. Still looking to meet and play with inspired folks who can sing harmony and move their bodies. Email us at office@billyjonas.com.
